AN ACT
Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in juvenile matters,
further providing for disposition of dependent child.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 6351(a) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
ยง 6351. Disposition of dependent child.
(a) General rule.--If the child is found to be a dependent
child the court may make any of the following orders of
disposition best suited to the safety, protection and physical,
mental, and moral welfare of the child:

(2.2) If the court determines that temporary or
permanent physical and legal custody shall be given to an

individual or entity other than a child's parents, guardian
or other custodian, a grandparent who wishes to be given
custody shall be considered and a study done by the probation
officer or other person or agency designated by the court. A
grandparent who wishes to be given custody shall have
standing in any court proceeding under this chapter involving
the child or children.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
