A RESOLUTION
1Designating October 24, 2014, as "Acupuncture and Oriental
2Medicine Day" in Pennsylvania to honor the more than 700
3licensed acupuncturists in this Commonwealth.
4WHEREAS, Acupuncture and oriental medicine have a long, rich
5history as components of a comprehensive traditional medical
6system, having been used for thousands of years to diagnose and
7treat illness, prevent disease and improve well-being; and
8WHEREAS, Practitioners of acupuncture and oriental medicine
9are dedicated to the highest professional standards; and
10WHEREAS, Practitioners maintain these standards through
11education, credentialing and personal commitment; and
12WHEREAS, Millions of Americans obtain the services of
13acupuncturists and oriental medicine practitioners each year;
14and
15WHEREAS, It is vital that persons seeking wellness or needing
16medical services understand the full realm of available options
17for competent, professional, integrated health care; therefore
18be it
19RESOLVED, That the Senate designate October 24, 2014, as
1"Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day" in Pennsylvania to honor
2the more than 700 licensed acupuncturists in this Commonwealth.
