AN ACT

 

1Amending the act of June 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), entitled, as
2reenacted and amended, "An act defining the liability of an
3employer to pay damages for injuries received by an employe
4in the course of employment; establishing an elective
5schedule of compensation; providing procedure for the
6determination of liability and compensation thereunder; and
7prescribing penalties," providing for cost-of-living
8increases in the amount of compensation payable.

9The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
10hereby enacts as follows:

11Section 1. The act of June 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), known
12as the Workers' Compensation Act, reenacted and amended June 21, 
131939 (P.L.520, No.281), is amended by adding a section to read:

14Section 308.2. Notwithstanding any other provision of this
15act, the amount of compensation payable to an employe, other
16than medical costs, and to the survivor of an employe shall be
17increased each year by the same percentage as the increase in
18the cost of living for the previously completed calendar year,
19as published by the United States Department of Labor. The
20increase in the amount of compensation payable shall take effect
21thirty days after publication of the percentage increase by the

1United States Department of Labor.

2Section 2. This act shall apply to compensation payable on
3or after January 1, 2014.

4Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
