AN ACT

 

1Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled,
2as amended, "An act relating to counties of the first, third,
3fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending,
4revising, consolidating and changing the laws relating
5thereto; relating to imposition of excise taxes by counties,
6including authorizing imposition of an excise tax on the
7rental of motor vehicles by counties of the first class; and
8providing for regional renaissance initiatives," in special
9powers and duties of counties, further providing for flags to
10decorate graves.

11The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
12hereby enacts as follows:

13Section 1. Section 1922(d) of the act of August 9, 1955
14(P.L.323, No.130), known as The County Code, amended June 12,
151986 (P.L.253, No.66), is amended to read:

16Section 1922. Flags to Decorate Graves.--* * *

17(d) The authorities in charge of any cemetery are authorized
18to remove such flags when the same become unsightly or
19weatherworn at any time not before the first working day after
20Independence Day of each year but the flag holders for the flags 

1may not be removed for any reason at any time unless the flag 
2holders are immediately replaced with new flag holders.

4Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
