1Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in juries and jurors,
3further providing for exemptions from jury duty.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1.  Section 4503(a) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding paragraphs to read:

8§ 4503.  Exemptions from jury duty.

9(a)  General rule.--No person shall be exempt or excused from
10jury duty except the following:

12(6)  Persons 75 years of age or older who request to be
13excused.

14(7)  Judges and magisterial district judges of the
15Commonwealth and judges of the United States as defined in 28 
16U.S.C. § 451 (relating to definitions).

18Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
