A RESOLUTION
1Designating September 22, 2014, as "Women In Bio Day" in
2Pennsylvania.
3WHEREAS, Women In Bio is a national organization of
4professionals committed to promoting careers, leadership and
5entrepreneurship for women in the life sciences; and
6WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Chapter of Women In Bio (Women In
7Bio-Pittsburgh) was formed in 2012 by founding members Lynn
8Brusco, Babs Carryer, Dottie Clower, Lidiya Orlichenko and Pat
9Rogan; and
10WHEREAS, Women In Bio-Pittsburgh is a nonprofit organization
11working to support recognized and emerging women leaders in the
12life sciences of western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and West
13Virginia; and
14WHEREAS, Women In Bio-Pittsburgh's mission is to promote
1entrepreneurship, innovation, education and mentorship among
2women across the region by providing programming and networking
3opportunities; and
4WHEREAS, Women In Bio-Pittsburgh is committed to increasing
5the impact of local women on the growth of the region by
6supporting their careers and professional development in the
7life sciences; therefore be it
8RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate
9September 22, 2014, as "Women In Bio Day" in Pennsylvania.
