1Honoring the Pope John Paul II High School Golden Panthers on 
2capturing the 2014 PIAA AAA State Baseball Championship.

3WHEREAS, The Golden Panthers won the PIAA AAA title in a 4-2
4victory over the Harriton Rams on June 13, 2014, following a
5rain-delayed quadruple-header of baseball finals at Lubrano
6Park's Medlar Field in University Park; and

7WHEREAS, The State title game was a rematch of the District 1
8title game held 15 days earlier for two schools whose respective
9communities are located within 20 miles of each other in
10Montgomery County; and

11WHEREAS, The team's notable performance under pressure
12throughout its first season with Coach John Duffy, with 15 games
13decided by two runs or less, continued in its stellar postseason
14play; and

15WHEREAS, With its State baseball title victory, Pope John
16Paul II High School earned its first PIAA championship in any

1sport since its 2010 opening; therefore be it

2RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the Pope
3John Paul II High School Golden Panthers on capturing the 2014
4PIAA AAA State Baseball Championship; and be it further

5RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
6the Pope John Paul II High School Golden Panthers at 181
7Rittenhouse Road, Royersford, PA 19468.
