AN ACT
1Designating an overpass on State Route 49 over State Route 15,
2Lawrence Township, Tioga County, as the Lance Corporal
3Michael G. Plank Memorial Bridge.
4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:
6Section 1. Lance Corporal Michael G. Plank Memorial Bridge.
7(a) Findings.--
8(1) Lance Corporal Michael G. Plank was a 2004 graduate
9of Elkland High School, Tioga County.
10(2) Lance Corporal Plank served in the Marine Corps
11assigned to the 7th Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics
12Group, Camp Pendleton, California.
13(3) On June 9, 2010, Lance Corporal Plank died while
14supporting combat operations in Helmand Province,
15Afghanistan.
1(4) Lance Corporal Plank received the National Defense
2Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the War on Terrorism
3Service Medal, the Non-Article 5 ISAF Medal and the Rifle
4Expert, 2nd Award.
5(b) Designation.--The overpass on State Route 49 over State
6Route 15, Lawrence Township, Tioga County, is hereby designated
7the Lance Corporal Michael G. Plank Memorial Bridge.
8(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
9maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to
10traffic in both directions on the bridge.
11Section 2. Effective date.
12This act shall take effect in 60 days.
