AN ACT
1Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in sentencing, further
3providing for collection of restitution, reparation, fees,
4costs, fines and penalties.
5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:
7Section 1. Section 9728(b)(5) of Title 42 of the
8Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9§ 9728. Collection of restitution, reparation, fees, costs,
10fines and penalties.

12(b) Procedure.--

14(5) The [county correctional facility to which the
15offender has been sentenced or the] Department of Corrections
16or the correctional facility to which the offender has been
17sentenced shall [be authorized to] make monetary deductions
18[from] of at least 25% of the offender's wages and 75% of all
19deposits made to inmate personal accounts for the purpose of
1collecting restitution [or], costs imposed under section
29721(c.1), filing fees to be collected under section 6602(c)
3(relating to prisoner filing fees), and any other court-
4ordered obligation [or costs imposed under section
59721(c.1)]. Deductions under this paragraph shall be in
6addition to the full amount authorized to be collected
7pursuant to any order for support. Any amount deducted shall
8be transmitted by the Department of Corrections or the county
9correctional facility to the probation department of the
10county or other agent designated by the county commissioners
11of the county with the approval of the president judge of the
12county in which the offender was convicted. [The] Each county
13correctional facility, in consultation with the Department of
14Corrections, shall develop guidelines relating to its
15responsibilities under this paragraph. Such guidelines shall
16be incorporated into any contract entered into with a
17contract corrections facility.
