AN ACT
1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further providing for reckless driving.
3The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4hereby enacts as follows:
5Section 1. Section 3736 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
6Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
7§ 3736. Reckless driving.
8(a) General rule.--Any person who drives any vehicle in
9willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or
10property is guilty of reckless driving.
11(a.1) Excess speeding.--Any person who drives any vehicle at
12a speed of 100 miles per hour or more or in excess of the
13maximum speed limit by 45 miles per hour or more is guilty under
14subsection (a).
15(b) Penalty.--Any person who violates this section commits a
16summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay
17a fine of $200.
18Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
