1Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, in adoption, providing for duties of

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Part III of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a chapter to read:

13§ 3001. Definitions.

14The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
15shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
16context clearly indicates otherwise:

17"Adoption-related materials." Printed materials or audio or
18video recordings provided by an agency, which may include

1information pertaining to the adoption process, the rights and
2responsibilities of the parent or parents and the adoptive
3parents, the costs associated with adoption and testimonials.

4"Agency." Any incorporated or unincorporated organization,
5society, institution or other entity, public or voluntary, which
6may receive or provide for the care of children, supervised by
7the Department of Public Welfare, and provide adoption services
8in accordance with standards established by the Department of
9Health.

10"Department." The Department of Health of the Commonwealth.

11§ 3002. Duties and responsibilities of department.

12When the department publishes and provides printed materials
13that list agencies offering alternatives to abortion, the
14department shall also provide adoption-related materials.

15Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
