1Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2act relating to the public school system, including certain
3provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5laws relating thereto," further providing for background
6checks.

7The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8hereby enacts as follows:

9Section 1. Section 111 of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30,
10No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by
11adding a subsection to read:

12Section 111. Background Checks of Prospective Employes;
13Conviction of Employes of Certain Offenses.--* * *

14(e.1) Upon conviction of a defendant who holds a
15certification from the Department of Education for an offense
16set forth in subsection (e), the court shall notify the
17Professional Standards and Practices Commission of the
18conviction.

1Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
