AN ACT
1Amending Title 5 (Athletics and Sports) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, in wrestling, further providing for
3physician to be in attendance.
4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:
6Section 1. Section 2104 of Title 5 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8§ 2104. Physician or certified registered nurse practitioner to
9be in attendance.
10Before any professional wrestling contest or exhibition shall
11take place, the promoter and the operator of the arena or
12facility shall employ a physician or certified registered nurse
13practitioner to be present at every wrestling contest or
14exhibition. The physician or certified registered nurse
15practitioner shall observe the physical condition of the
16participants throughout the contest or exhibition and shall be
17authorized to terminate the contest or exhibition when, in his
18judgment, severe injury would result if the contest or
1exhibition were to continue. A certified registered nurse
2practitioner employed by the promoter shall practice in
3accordance with sections 8.2, 8.3 and 8.7 of the act of May 22,
41951 (P.L.317, No.69), known as The Professional Nursing Law.
5The [physician's] fee for the physician or certified registered
6nurse practitioner shall be paid by the promoter.
7Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
