1Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further providing for organization of the
3Pennsylvania Game Commission.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1.  Section 301(c) of Title 34 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8§ 301.  Organization of commission.

10(c)  Term of office and compensation.--

11(1)  [The members] A member of the commission shall hold
12office for not more than two terms of [eight] four years
13each, subject to Senate confirmation pursuant to law for each 
14term, and may continue to hold office for a period of time
15not to exceed [six] 12 months or until a successor is
16appointed and qualified, whichever occurs first. Thereafter, 
17the person shall be ineligible to hold that office.

18(2)  A member of the commission appointed to fill a

1vacancy for a period of [four] two years or less may be
2eligible for appointment to a full [eight-year] four-year
3term. [A member of the commission who serves a full eight-
4year term or fills a vacancy for a period of more than four
5years shall not be eligible for reappointment to the
6commission until a period of eight years expires.]

7(3)  Commissioners shall receive no compensation for
8their services, but may be reimbursed for travel expenses.

10Section 2.  The amendment of 34 Pa.C.S. § 301(c) shall apply
11to members of the commission appointed on or after the effective
12date of this section.

13Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
