1Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the
3definition of "municipal police officer" for purposes of
4municipal police jurisdiction.

5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:

7Section 1.  The definition of "municipal police officer" in
8section 8951 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
9Statutes is amended to read:

10§ 8951.  Definitions.

11The following words and phrases when used in this subchapter
12shall have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the
13meanings given to them in this section:

15"Municipal police officer."  Any natural person who is
16properly employed by a municipality, including a home rule
17municipality, or a police department as defined in 53 Pa.C.S. § 
182162 (relating to definitions) as a regular full-time or part-

1time police officer.

3Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
