AN ACT
1Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for concealing death
3of child.
4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:
6Section 1. Section 4303(a) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended and the section is amended by
8adding a subsection to read:
9§ 4303. Concealing death of child.
10(a) Offense defined.--A person is guilty of a [misdemeanor
11of the first degree] felony of the third degree if he or she as
12a parent, individual residing in the same household as the child
13or an individual responsible for the child's welfare, endeavors
14privately, either alone or by the procurement of others, to
15conceal the death of [his or her] the child, so that it may not
16come to light, whether it was born dead or alive or whether it
1was murdered or not.

3(c) Definition.--As used in this section, "parent" means a
4natural parent, stepparent, adoptive parent, guardian or an
5individual involved in an intimate relationship with the child's
6parent.
7Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
