| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Observing the week of September 17 through 23, 2011, as |
2 | "Constitution Week" in Pennsylvania, and commending the |
3 | National Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the American |
4 | Revolution for its patriotic support of this observance in |
5 | our Commonwealth. |
6 | WHEREAS, The National Society of the Daughters of the |
7 | American Revolution was founded in Washington, DC, in 1890 and |
8 | chartered by Congress in 1896; and |
9 | WHEREAS, The society consists of women descended directly |
10 | from individuals who aided in establishing American independence |
11 | throughout the period of the American Revolution, and it strives |
12 | to promote historic preservation, patriotic endeavors and |
13 | education; and |
14 | WHEREAS, The National Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the |
15 | American Revolution has developed a strong reputation for the |
16 | very highest quality of service and adherence to the principles |
17 | of fairness, reliability and integrity, and it has become a |
18 | leading organization in its region; and |

1 | WHEREAS, The National Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the |
2 | American Revolution joins with its national society and other |
3 | patriotic organizations and citizens throughout our nation to |
4 | observe "Constitution Week" during the week of September 17 |
5 | through 23, 2011, and it encourages all to take part in this |
6 | observance of our Federal Constitution; therefore be it |
7 | RESOLVED, That the Senate observe the week of September 17 |
8 | through 23, 2011, as "Constitution Week" in Pennsylvania, and |
9 | commend the National Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the |
10 | American Revolution for its patriotic support of this observance |
11 | in our Commonwealth. |
