AN ACT

Amending the act of July 19, 1957 (P.L.1017, No.451), entitled

2

"An act prohibiting advisors, consultants, officers and

3

employes of the Commonwealth, the Pennsylvania Turnpike

4

Commission and State authorities, from having adverse

5

interests in certain contracts; prohibiting employes thereof

6

from representing other persons in certain circumstances; and

7

prescribing penalties," further providing for the definition

8

of "Have an Adverse Interest"; and providing for a definition

9

of "Immediate Family."

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

11

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 2(4) of the act of July 19, 1957

13

(P.L.1017, No.451), known as the State Adverse Interest Act,

14

amended December 9, 1982 (P.L.1044, No.245), is amended and the

15

section is amended by adding a paragraph to read:

Section 2.  The following terms shall have the following

17

meanings, when used in this act:

(4)  "Have an Adverse Interest."  Be the party or an

20

immediate family member be the party to a contract, as herein

21

defined, other than the Commonwealth or a State agency or be a

stockholder, partner, member, agent, representative or employe

2

of such party.

(4.1)  "Immediate Family."  A spouse or child.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
