A RESOLUTION

Recognizing May 2012 as "National Youth Traffic Safety Month" in

2

Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, Youth traffic safety is a vital concern for the

4

youth of Pennsylvania; and

5

WHEREAS, The youth of this Commonwealth are an asset we

6

cannot afford to lose to traffic accidents; and

7

WHEREAS, Each person, including parents, educators, law

8

enforcement, elected leaders, community leaders and youth

9

themselves, must play a part in protecting and educating this

10

Commonwealth's youth and their families about youth traffic

11

safety; and

12

WHEREAS, The month of May is an opportune time to increase

13

awareness concerning youth traffic safety as prom season,

14

graduations and summer vacation months are all times of

15

particular safety concerns; and

WHEREAS, With the resources of the National Safety Council,

2

the Allstate Foundation, the Pennsylvania Teen Safety Driving

3

Coalition, the PA DUI Association and the House of

4

Representatives, we can help increase awareness about youth

5

traffic safety; therefore be it

6

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the

7

month of May 2012 as "National Youth Traffic Safety Month" in

8

Pennsylvania and urge the people of this Commonwealth to observe

9

the month as an opportunity to educate our youth about traffic

10

safety.
