A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the week of April 2 through 6, 2012, as "Graduate

2

and Professional Student Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.

3

WHEREAS, Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week

4

is designed to raise awareness of the role of graduate and

5

professional students within this nation's colleges and

6

universities; and

7

WHEREAS, There are more than 100,000 graduate and

8

professional students currently studying in this Commonwealth;

9

and

10

WHEREAS, Graduate and professional students in universities,

11

through their notable accomplishments and outstanding

12

achievements, have contributed tremendously to the community;

13

and

14

WHEREAS, Graduate and professional students are the future

15

teaching professionals, researchers and leaders of the

16

political, business, cultural and educational institutions of

this Commonwealth and of this nation; and

2

WHEREAS, Graduate and professional students have

3

distinguished themselves in their chosen fields; and

4

WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's economy is strengthened by the

5

presence of graduate and professional students; and

6

WHEREAS, During Graduate and Professional Student

7

Appreciation Week, universities in this Commonwealth will

8

celebrate the achievements of these students with appropriate

9

celebration and activities; therefore be it

10

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the

11

week of April 2 through 6, 2012, as "Graduate and Professional

12

Student Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.
