A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the County Commissioners Association of

2

Pennsylvania on its 125th anniversary.

3

WHEREAS, The County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania

4

(CCAP) has provided this Commonwealth's 67 counties with a

5

variety of essential services to assist counties in effectively

6

and efficiently meeting the needs of this Commonwealth's

7

residents for 125 years; and

8

WHEREAS, CCAP and all counties it represents take seriously

9

their responsibility to protect and enhance the health, welfare

10

and safety of their residents in sensible and cost-effective

11

ways; and

12

WHEREAS, The depth and breadth of the knowledge and services

13

CCAP has provided to counties has consistently benefited the

Commonwealth in meeting the unique and emerging needs of

2

Pennsylvania's population in a wide range of settings; and

3

WHEREAS, CCAP has worked diligently to elevate the awareness

4

of what county government does, has worked to ensure that

5

counties and their employees are prepared to meet the needs of

6

residents and has provided superior representation before the

7

Federal and State governments on behalf of all counties; and

8

WHEREAS, CCAP, as the voice of county government, is working

9

to protect the interests of counties and their residents while

10

at the same time working to chart a new course for resilient and

11

cost-effective county government that can meet the challenges of

12

a diverse and changing population; and

13

WHEREAS, County government delivers many important services

14

to Pennsylvania residents and their families, including physical

15

and mental health, housing, employment, family and children and

16

youth services, emergency management, elections and justice; and

17

WHEREAS, CCAP is the only State organization that represents

18

county government in this Commonwealth; and

19

WHEREAS, Pennsylvania and CCAP are working together to

20

restore the partnership among all levels of government to better

21

serve Pennsylvania's communities; therefore be it

22

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the

23

County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania on the occasion

24

of its 125th anniversary and its continuing support and

25

leadership for all counties.
