Amending Title 20 (Decedents, Estates and Fiduciaries) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in administration and
personal representatives, providing for power over decedent
account on social networking website, microblogging or short
message service website or e-mail service website.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 20 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
§ 3316.2. Power over decedent account on social networking
website, microblogging or short message service
website or e-mail service website.
A personal representative shall have the power, unless the
personal representatives' authority has been restricted by will
or by court order, to take control of, conduct, continue or
terminate an account of the decedent with a social networking
website, microblogging or short message service website or
e-mail service website.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 90 days.
