SENATE BILL

REFERRED TO APPROPRIATIONS, SEPTEMBER 23, 2009  

AN ACT

Making appropriations to the Wistar Institute, Philadelphia, for

operation and maintenance expenses and for AIDS research.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  (a)  The sum of $95,000 is hereby appropriated to

the Wistar Institute, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,

2009, to June 30, 2010, for the operation and maintenance of the

institute.

(b)  The sum of $41,000 is hereby appropriated to the Wistar

Institute-Research, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,

2009, to June 30, 2010, for research on acquired immune

deficiency syndrome.

(c)  Payment of the appropriations in this section shall be

made by the Secretary of Health in equal quarterly payments.

Section 2.  The Wistar Institute shall provide full, complete

and accurate information as may be required by the Department of

Health or the chairman or the minority chairman of the

Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the chairman or the

minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the House

of Representatives.

Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
