AN ACT

Making an appropriation to the University of the Arts,

2

Philadelphia, for instruction and student aid.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

4

hereby enacts as follows:

5

Section 1.  The sum of $271,000 is hereby appropriated to the

6

University of the Arts, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July

7

1, 2009, to June 30, 2010, for instruction and student aid.

Section 2.  Payments to the University of the Arts on account

9

of the appropriation provided in section 1 shall be made by the

10

Secretary of Education in equal quarterly payments.

Section 3.  The University of the Arts shall provide full,

12

complete and accurate information as may be required by the

13

Department of Education or the chairman or the minority chairman

14

of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the chairman or

15

the minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the

16

House of Representatives.

Section 4.  The University of the Arts shall report its

18

revenues and expenditures and present its financial statement in

accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and

2

procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the

3

"Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth

4

of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of

5

Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-State-

6

Related Colleges and Universities."

Section 5.  The Trustees of the University of the Arts of

8

Philadelphia shall report on forms provided by the Department of

9

Education to both the chairman and minority chairman of the

10

Appropriations Committee of the Senate and the chairman and the

11

minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the House

12

of Representatives by September 30, 2010, on how State-

13

appropriated funds were expended for fiscal year 2009-2010 to

14

reduce the costs to Pennsylvania resident students or to provide

15

services to Pennsylvania residents.

Section 6.  This act shall take effect immediately.
