| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, further providing for penalties for exceeding |
3 | maximum weights. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 4945(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read: |
8 | § 4945. Penalties for exceeding maximum weights. |
9 | (a) Gross weight violations.-- |

11 | (3) If the gross weight of any vehicle or combination |
12 | that transports municipal waste subject to the act of July 7, |
13 | 1980 (P.L.380, No.97), known as the Solid Waste Management |
14 | Act, exceeds the applicable gross weight allowed by section |
15 | 4941 or the registered gross weight allowed by section 4942, |
16 | whichever is less, the fine imposed under this subsection |
17 | shall be doubled. |
