AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

2

Statutes, in registration of vehicles, providing for a

3

special license plate for recipients of certain military

4

badges.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

7

Section 1.  Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

8

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

9

§ 1366.  Special plates for recipients of certain military

10

badges.

(a)  Recipients of the Combat Action Badge.--Upon application

12

of any person who is a recipient of the Combat Action Badge,

13

accompanied by a fee of $10 which shall be in addition to the

14

annual registration fee and by such documentation as the

15

department shall require, the department shall issue to the

16

person a special registration plate designating the vehicle so

17

licensed as belonging to a person who is a recipient of the

Combat Action Badge. The special registration plate may be used

2

only on a passenger car or truck with a registered gross weight

3

of not more than 10,000 pounds.

(b)  Recipients of the Combat Infantryman Badge.--Upon

5

application of any person who is a recipient of the Combat

6

Infantryman badge, accompanied by a fee of $10 which shall be in

7

addition to the annual registration fee and by such

8

documentation as the department shall require, the department

9

shall issue to the person a special registration plate

10

designating the vehicle so licensed as belonging to a person who

11

is a recipient of the Combat Infantryman Badge. The special

12

registration plate may be used only on a passenger car or truck

13

with a registered gross weight of not more than 10,000 pounds.

(c)  Recipients of the Combat Medic Badge.--Upon application

15

of any person who is a recipient of the Combat Medic Badge,

16

accompanied by a fee of $10, which shall be in addition to the

17

annual registration fee and by such documentation as the

18

department shall require, the department shall issue to the

19

person a special registration plate designating the vehicle so

20

licensed as belonging to a person who is a recipient of the

21

Combat Medic Badge. The special registration plate may be used

22

only on a passenger car or truck with a registered gross weight

23

of not more than 10,000 pounds.

(d)  Special fund.--Revenues which exceed the general

25

operating cost of the registration process under this section

26

shall be deposited in the Pennsylvania Veterans' Memorial Trust

27

Fund established in 51 Pa.C.S. § 1905 (relating to Pennsylvania

28

Veterans' Memorial Trust Fund) for the ongoing preservation and

29

restoration of the Pennsylvania Veterans Memorial at Fort

30

Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
