INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, FEBRUARY 9, 2010  

  

  

  

A RESOLUTION

  

1

Encouraging all Commonwealth communities and community

2

organizations to support the One for Our Troops effort.

3

WHEREAS, One for Our Troops is a simple way not only to

4

salute all men and women who have served and who currently serve

5

in the armed forces, but also to remind all citizens of the

6

sacrifices that have been made to protect this nation; and

7

WHEREAS, One for Our Troops seeks to design a red, white and

8

blue firework to be used at the end of all fireworks displays

9

after the grand finale as a salute to veterans and troops; and

10

WHEREAS, One for Our Troops was founded by United States

11

combat veteran Thom Jones, who served in the Army's 82nd

12

Airborne Division, and has received the assistance of Dr. George

13

R. Zambelli, M.D., to aid with the creation of the firework that

will be used in the salute; and

2

WHEREAS, This Commonwealth recognizes the sacrifices made and

3

effort put forth by all veterans and those currently serving in

4

the armed forces; therefore be it 

5

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage all

6

Commonwealth communities and community organizations to support

7

the One for Our Troops effort.
