INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, SEPTEMBER 4, 2009  

  

  

  

A RESOLUTION

Designating September 17 through 23, 2009, as "Constitution

2

Week" in Pennsylvania.

3

WHEREAS, September 17, 2009, marks the 222nd anniversary of

4

the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America

5

by the Constitutional Convention; and

6

WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper to accord official

7

recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable

8

anniversary and to the patriotic celebrations which will

9

commemorate the occasion; and

10

WHEREAS, Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a

11

proclamation each year by the President of the United States of

12

America designating September 17 through 23 as "Constitution

Week"; therefore be it

2

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate

3

September 17 through 23, 2009, as "Constitution Week" in

4

Pennsylvania; and be it further

5

RESOLVED, That all Pennsylvanians be encouraged to recognize

6

this historic observance.
