INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, FEBRUARY 18, 2009  

A RESOLUTION

Designating the month of March 2009 as "DeMolay Month" in

Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, The Order of DeMolay is a character-building

organization of young men from 12 to 21 years of age; and

WHEREAS, These young men seek to prepare themselves to become

better citizens and leaders for tomorrow; and

WHEREAS, DeMolay helps develop those traits of character

which have strengthened good men in all ages; and

WHEREAS, DeMolay has carried out its goals for 80 years

through programs of athletic competition, social activity, civic

service and charitable projects; and

WHEREAS, The Hershey Chapter of DeMolay, with a current

membership of 45, has proudly served the community and provided

society with new leaders since 1926 and is a shining example of

DeMolay in this Commonwealth; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the

month of March 2009 as "DeMolay Month" in Pennsylvania.
