A RESOLUTION

Honoring Alvin C. Bush for his many years of public service on

2

the occasion of his retirement from the Independent

3

Regulatory Review Commission.

4

WHEREAS, Alvin C. Bush served the Commonwealth for over 35

5

years, including 20 years as a State representative; and

6

WHEREAS, In 1997, after many years of State service, Alvin C.

7

Bush was appointed as a member of the Independent Regulatory

8

Review Commission; and

9

WHEREAS, At 85 years of age, Alvin C. Bush recently stepped

10

down as vice chairman of the Independent Regulatory Review

11

Commission, the commission that provides oversight and review of

12

all proposed and existing rules and regulations issued by all

13

Commonwealth departments, boards, agencies or other authorities,

14

excluding the General Assembly; and

15

WHEREAS, Alvin C. Bush was instrumental in forming the

commission more than 20 years ago following his years of service

2

as a lawmaker, chief of staff for Senate Republicans, Director

3

of the Legislative Reference Bureau and director of Government

4

Affairs in the House of Representatives; therefore be it

5

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor Alvin C.

6

Bush on the occasion of his retirement as vice chairman of the

7

Independent Regulatory Review Commission for his many years of

8

dedicated service to the Commonwealth.
