                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     exceptions to governmental immunity.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 8542 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 8542.  Exceptions to governmental immunity.
     9     * * *
    10     (b.1)  Tax sale property.--No liability shall be imposed on a
    11  county or county tax claim bureau for any of the acts set forth
    12  in subsection (b) as a result of a county or a county tax claim
    13  bureau having acquired legal or equitable title or possession,
    14  care, custody or control of property in accordance with the act
    15  of May 16, 1923 (P.L.207, No.153), referred to as the Municipal
    16  Claim and Tax Lien Law, the act of July 7, 1947 (P.L.1368,
    17  No.542), known as the Real Estate Tax Sale Law, or any other act
    18  authorizing a tax sale or treasurer's sale on tax liens.
