AN ACT 1 Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania 2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for blind veterans' 3 pensions and for paralyzed veterans' pensions. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Sections 7701(b) and 7702(a) of Title 51 of the 7 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read: 8 § 7701. Blind veteran's pension. 9 * * * 10 (b) Amount and eligibility.-- 11 (1) In addition to any other assistance provided by the 12 Commonwealth and in addition to any compensation provided by 13 the Federal Government, every blind veteran shall be paid a 14 pension of [$150] $200 per month. 15 (2) The monthly pension shall be adjusted on a biennial 16 basis equal to the level of change in the Consumer Price
1 Index in the preceding two-year period. The change shall take 2 effect with the first payment in the fiscal year. Public 3 notice of the revision shall be published by the department 4 as a notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin prior to taking 5 effect. Applications for such pensions shall be made to and 6 in the form prescribed by the department. The Adjutant 7 General shall have the power, and it shall be his duty to 8 determine the eligibility of every applicant for a pension, 9 and his decision in the matter shall be final. 10 § 7702.
