AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for Gold Star Family license
3 plates.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 1365(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes, added October 4, 2006 (P.L.1143, No.117),
8 is amended to read:
9 § 1365. Gold Star Family plate.
10 (a) General rule.--Upon application of a family member of a
11 person who was killed while serving on active duty in the
12 military, [accompanied by a fee of $20 which shall be in
13 addition to the] at no charge over the annual registration fee
14 and by such documentation as the department shall require, the
15 department shall issue to the family member a special
16 registration plate designating the vehicle so licensed as
17 belonging to a family member of a person who was killed while
18 serving on active duty in the military. The department shall
1 design and produce the special registration plate carrying the 2 Service Flag Gold Star rimmed with blue which represents 3 sacrifice to the cause of liberty and freedom. The words "Gold 4 Star Family" shall be clearly displayed along the bottom of the 5 plate. The special registration plate may be used only on a 6 passenger car or truck with a registered gross weight of not 7 more than 10,000 pounds. 8 * * * 9 Section 2.
