        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           SEPTEMBER 9, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Congratulating the Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts
     2     of America on the occasion of its 95th anniversary.

     3     WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America was founded by Chicago
     4  publisher William Boyce on February 8, 1910; and
     5     WHEREAS, Only three years later, in 1913, the Warren County
     6  Council of the Boy Scouts of America was established in the City
     7  of Warren; and
     8     WHEREAS, In 1954, the official name of the Warren County
     9  Council was changed to the Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy
    10  Scouts of America to honor the famous Seneca Iroquois Indian;
    11  and
    12     WHEREAS, The Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts of


     1  America, having existed for 95 years, is the oldest continuously
     2  existing council in the Boy Scouts of America; and
     3     WHEREAS, The Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts of
     4  America has become an important member of the community of the
     5  City of Warren, having served countless generations of youth;
     6  therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the
     8  Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts of America, which is
     9  headquartered in the City of Warren, on the occasion of its 95th
    10  anniversary; and be it further
    11     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    12  the Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
