           LONGIETTI, R. STEVENSON, SAINATO, DENLINGER, CUTLER,

                            A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

     1  Urging the Governor to issue an executive order suspending the
     2     assessment of health care providers for the Medical Care
     3     Availability and Reduction of Error Fund for a period ending
     4     on March 31, 2008.

     5     WHEREAS, A continuing emergency exists as to the number of
     6  trusted family physicians practicing in this Commonwealth; and
     7     WHEREAS, Assessment for the Medical Care Availability and
     8  Reduction of Error Fund will cause more trusted family
     9  physicians to leave this Commonwealth; therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly
    11  urge the Governor to issue an emergency executive order to
    12  suspend the assessment under section 712(d) of the act of March
    13  20, 2002 (P.L.154, No.13), known as the Medical Care
    14  Availability and Reduction of Error (Mcare) Act for a period
    15  ending on March 31, 2008.
