A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing the week of September 21 through 27, 2008, as
2 "Athletic Associations Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, The week of September 21 through 27, 2008, has been
4 selected as "Athletic Associations Appreciation Week"; and
5 WHEREAS, Athletic associations across this Commonwealth
6 foster social and athletic development, including team spirit,
7 leading to positive health and success; and
8 WHEREAS, Athletic associations provide a uniform set of rules
9 and a code of conduct that become standard to athletes not only
10 on the field, but off the field as well; and
11 WHEREAS, Communities greatly benefit from the presence of
12 athletic associations that provide entertainment and service to
13 people of the community; and
14 WHEREAS, Athletic associations shall be honored for their
15 continued service to our youth and our communities; therefore be

2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
3 week of September 21 through 27, 2008, as "Athletic Associations
4 Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.
