A RESOLUTION
1 Designating the month of May 2008 as "Local History Month" in
2 Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, International Museum Day is observed each year
4 during the month of May; and
5 WHEREAS, Attendance at local museums is an excellent way to
6 promote local history in our communities and schools; and
7 WHEREAS, National History Day, which encourages the use of
8 local history collections and sites for student projects, is
9 also celebrated each year during the month of May; and
10 WHEREAS, Pennsylvania Heritage Week is also observed each
11 year during the month of May; therefore be it
1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
2 month of May 2008 as "Local History Month" in Pennsylvania.
