A RESOLUTION 1 Encouraging the University of Pittsburgh Panthers Football Team 2 and The Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions Football 3 Team to play each other. 4 WHEREAS, The University of Pittsburgh and The Pennsylvania 5 State University football teams have previously played each 6 other in a series of 96 games; and 7 WHEREAS, The first game in the series was held in 1893; and 8 WHEREAS, The last game in the series was held in 2000 with a 9 score of Pittsburgh 12, Penn State 0; and 10 WHEREAS, The record of wins for the series was 42 wins for 11 the University of Pittsburgh, 50 wins for The Pennsylvania State 12 University and four ties; and 13 WHEREAS, The football games between the University of 14 Pittsburgh and The Pennsylvania State University created a 15 friendly rivalry between the schools that many Pennsylvanians
1 supported; therefore be it 2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage the 3 University of Pittsburgh Panthers Football Team and The 4 Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions Football Team to 5 reinstitute a football game between each other; and be it 6 further 7 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to 8 each member of the boards of trustees of the University of 9 Pittsburgh and The Pennsylvania State University.
