        INTRODUCED BY CRUZ, YOUNGBLOOD, PALLONE, BARRAR, BLACKWELL,
           JAMES, THOMAS AND CALTAGIRONE, MAY 18, 2007

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON STATE GOVERNMENT, MAY 18, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Establishing a select committee to study the impact of legal and
     2     illegal immigration on housing, health care and education in
     3     this Commonwealth.

     4     WHEREAS, There is a need to study the impact of legal and
     5  illegal immigration on housing, health care and education in
     6  this Commonwealth; therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives establish a
     8  select committee to study the impact of legal and illegal
     9  immigration on housing, health care and education in this
    10  Commonwealth; and be it further
    11     RESOLVED, That the committee consist of nine members of the
    12  House of Representatives as follows:
    13         (1)  Five appointees designated by the Majority Leader of
    14     the House of Representatives.
    15         (2)  Four appointees designated by the Minority Leader of
    16     the House of Representatives;
    17  and be it further
    18     RESOLVED, That the members of the committee choose from among

     1  themselves a chairman and other officers as deemed necessary and
     2  draw upon their existing staff to assist in the work of the
     3  committee; and be it further
     4     RESOLVED, That Commonwealth agencies and departments be
     5  directed to assist the committee in its investigation; and be it
     6  further
     7     RESOLVED, That the committee have the power to obtain the
     8  necessary information from any group or individual deemed
     9  helpful in performing its duties; and be it further
    10     RESOLVED, That the committee make a report of its findings to
    11  the House of Representatives by June 30, 2008.
