        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 18, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring the 125th anniversary of the birth of Rock L. Butler
     2     and designating April 26, 2007, as "Rock L. Butler Day" in
     3     Pennsylvania.

     4     WHEREAS, The late Rock L. Butler dedicated his life and
     5  leadership to education in the Wellsboro Area School District;
     6  and
     7     WHEREAS, Rock L. Butler taught for 13 years and was
     8  supervising principal for 37 years; and
     9     WHEREAS, Rock L. Butler was deeply involved in the planning
    10  and building of the Wellsboro Junior-Senior High School in 1952;
    11  and
    12     WHEREAS, In 1992 the building was named in his honor as the
    13  Rock L. Butler Middle School; and
    14     WHEREAS, Rock L. Butler worked tirelessly for the Wellsboro


     1  community through church, civic and service organizations;
     2  therefore be it
     3     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the 125th
     4  anniversary of the birth of Rock L. Butler and designate April
     5  26, 2007, as "Rock L. Butler Day" in Pennsylvania.
