AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous
3 articles, further providing for sale or transfer of firearms.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 6111(j) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 6111. Sale or transfer of firearms.

10 (j) Exemption.--
11 (1) The provisions of subsections (a) and (b) shall not
12 apply to:
13 (i) sales between Federal firearms licensees[.]; or
14 (ii) the purchase of firearms by a chief law
15 enforcement officer, or his designee, for the official
16 use of law enforcement officers.
17 (2) For the purposes of this subsection, the term "chief
1 law enforcement officer" shall include the Commissioner of
2 the Pennsylvania State Police, the chief or head of a police
3 department, a county sheriff or any equivalent law
4 enforcement official.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
