AN ACT 1 Amending the act of September 30, 1983 (P.L.160, No.39), 2 entitled "An act establishing salaries and compensation of 3 certain public officials including justices and judges of 4 Statewide courts, judges of courts of common pleas, judges of 5 the Philadelphia Municipal Court, judges of the Philadelphia 6 Traffic Court, district justices and the Governor, the 7 Lieutenant Governor, the State Treasurer, the Auditor 8 General, the Attorney General and certain other State 9 officers and the salary and certain expenses of the members 10 of the General Assembly; and repealing certain inconsistent 11 acts," further providing for compensation of Governor and 12 Lieutenant Governor, the Secretary of the Budget and certain 13 other Executive Department officials and for the compensation 14 of members of the General Assembly. 15 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 16 hereby enacts as follows: 17 Section 1. Sections 3 and 4 of the act of September 30, 1983 18 (P.L.160, No.39), known as the Public Official Compensation Law, 19 are amended by adding subsections to read: 20 Section 3. Compensation of Governor and Lieutenant Governor; 21 State Treasurer; Auditor General; Attorney 22 General; Commissioners of the Pennsylvania Public 23 Utility Commission; and heads of departments.
1 * * * 2 (f) Forfeiture of salary during periods of budget impasse 3 beyond July 1.--Notwithstanding any other provision of this act 4 or other law to the contrary, during any calendar year in which, 5 by July 1 of that calendar year, no general appropriations act 6 has been enacted for the fiscal year beginning July 1 during 7 that calendar year, the persons identified under subsection (a) 8 and the Secretary of the Budget shall forfeit that portion of 9 their salaries attributable to the period from July 1 of that 10 calendar year to the date on which a general appropriation act 11 for that fiscal year is enacted. 12 Section 4. Members of the General Assembly. 13 * * * 14 (e) Forfeiture of salary during periods of budget impasse 15 beyond July 1.--Notwithstanding any other provision of this act 16 or other law to the contrary, during any calendar year in which, 17 by July 1 of that calendar year, no general appropriations act 18 has been enacted for the fiscal year beginning July 1 during 19 that calendar year, the persons identified under subsections (a) 20 and (b) shall forfeit that portion of their salaries 21 attributable to the period from July 1 of that calendar year to 22 the date on which a general appropriation act for that fiscal 23 year is enacted. 24 Section 2. This act shall apply to all persons identified 25 under sections 3(f) and 4(a) and (b) of the act who are elected 26 or appointed to their respective offices after the effective 27 date of this section. 28 Section 3.
