                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
     2     act relating to the public school system, including certain
     3     provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
     4     schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
     5     laws relating thereto," further providing for home education
     6     program.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 1327.1 of the act of March 10, 1949
    10  (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is
    11  amended by adding a subsection to read:
    12     Section 1327.1.  Home Education Program.--* * *
    13     (f.2)  The school district of residence shall provide access
    14  to libraries within the district to students enrolled in a home
    15  education program and home education supervisors for the purpose
    16  of borrowing scholastic materials. School districts providing
    17  library access may designate specific time periods in which


     1  students enrolled in home education programs and home education
     2  supervisors are permitted to use their facilities. School
     3  districts providing library access may exclude or may set
     4  guidelines for use of their facilities by students participating
     5  in a home education program who have previously been excluded in
     6  the form of suspension or expulsion, as provided for in 22 Pa.
     7  Code Ch. 12 (relating to students and student services), from
     8  any public or private school.

    10     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
