                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for application for certificate
     3     of title.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1103.1(d) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 1103.1.  Application for certificate of title.
     9     * * *
    10     (d)  Vehicles purchased from dealers.--If the application
    11  refers to a vehicle purchased from a dealer, the dealer shall
    12  mail or deliver the application to the department within 20 days
    13  of the date of purchase. The dealer must accept a separate check
    14  or money order made payable to the Commonwealth for fees and
    15  taxes due to the Commonwealth in connection with the
    16  application. The application shall contain the names and
    17  addresses of any lienholders in order of priority and the

     1  amounts and the dates of the security agreements and be assigned
     2  by the dealer to the owner and signed by the owner. Any dealer
     3  violating this subsection is guilty of a summary offense and
     4  shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $50 for
     5  each violation. The requirement that the dealer mail or deliver
     6  the application to the department does not apply to vehicles
     7  purchased by fleet owners or governmental or quasi-governmental
     8  agencies.

    10     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
