AN ACT
1 Requiring publication of notice of the establishment of
2 Congressional districts following the Federal decennial
3 census.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Duty to publish notice of redistricting.
7 Upon the enactment of a statute providing for the
8 establishment of Congressional districts following the official
9 reporting of the Federal decennial census as required by Federal
10 law, the Secretary of the Commonwealth shall publish notice of
11 the Congressional districts as established by the statute at
12 least once in at least one newspaper of general circulation in
13 each county in which such newspapers are published.
14 Section 2. Contents of notice.
15 The notice shall contain a map of this Commonwealth showing
16 all districts established by the statute and a map showing the
17 districts in the county in which the publication is made. The
18 notice shall also state the population of the districts having
1 the smallest and largest populations and the percentage
2 variation of such districts from the average population for
3 Congressional districts.
4 Section 3. Effective date.
5 This act shall take effect immediately.
