        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           SEPTEMBER 24, 2002

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Commemorating the week of August 11, 2002, as "Knights of
     2     Columbus Family Week."

     3     WHEREAS, The Order of the Knights of Columbus is a Catholic
     4  family organization with more than 1.6 million members and,
     5  counting family members, is comprised of approximately 5 million
     6  people; and
     7     WHEREAS, The Order of the Knights of Columbus is a leader in
     8  promoting strong family life throughout the world through
     9  prayer, togetherness and programs to benefit families; and
    10     WHEREAS, Knights in this Commonwealth and throughout the


     1  world regularly sponsor programs which benefit and spiritually
     2  enrich their families and promote family values in the
     3  community; and
     4     WHEREAS, During the week of August 11, 2002, Knights and
     5  their families will commemorate the birth and death of Father
     6  Michael J. McGivney, revered founder of the Order of the Knights
     7  of Columbus, and will recommit themselves to the ideals of the
     8  Order; therefore be it
     9     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commemorate the
    10  week of August 11, 2002, as "Knights of Columbus Family Week";
    11  and be it further
    12     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the citizens
    13  of this Commonwealth to join in the celebration of "Knights of
    14  Columbus Family Week" and to maintain the spirit of that week
    15  throughout the year.
