                                  A RESOLUTION

1 Directing the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness
2 Committee to examine terroristic activities.

3 WHEREAS, Around the world each year there are an increasing
4 number of terroristic attacks which needlessly injure untold
5 numbers of civilians and destroy the peace and order for which
     6 humanity strives; and
7 WHEREAS, The perpetrators of these terroristic attacks often
8 needlessly kill, maim and injure many children who have no
9 connection to the political or other agenda which the terrorists
    10 seek to advance; and
11 WHEREAS, The recent terrorist attacks on the World Trade
12 Center in New York City and the Pentagon Building in Washington
13 D.C. clearly establish that the cities of this country are not

1 immune from terrorism, whether it is international or whether it
2 originates from within this country; therefore be it
3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives hereby direct the
4 Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee to
5 undertake an examination of terroristic activities within this
6 country and this Commonwealth to determine what efforts the
7 Commonwealth can take to assure that the horrors of terrorism
8 are adequately prepared for and that the Commonwealth is
9 prepared to deal with terrorists within its borders.
