SENATOR THOMPSON, APPROPRIATIONS, IN SENATE, AS AMENDED, JUNE 10, 2002
AN ACT 1 Making an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within 2 the General Fund AND from Federal augmentation funds and from <-- 3 the First Class City Taxicab Regulatory Fund to the 4 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. 5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 6 hereby enacts as follows: 7 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be 8 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted 9 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal 10 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission 11 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal 12 year July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003, for the purposes and in the 13 amounts shown: 14 Federal State 15 For the salaries, wages and all 16 necessary expenses for the proper 17 operation and administration of the
1 Pennsylvania Public Utility 2 Commission, including the chairman and 3 commissioners and the Bureau of Safety 4 and Enforcement. 5 State appropriation........ 42,898,000 6 The following Federal augmentation 7 amounts, or as much thereof as may be 8 necessary, are specifically 9 appropriated to supplement the sum 10 authorized to be billed to utilities 11 for the operation of the commission: 12 (1) "Natural Gas Pipeline 13 Safety" - To enforce the 14 regulations of the Natural Gas 15 Pipeline Safety Act. 16 Federal appropriation...... 350,000 17 Any Federal funds which the 18 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission 19 receives pursuant to these 20 appropriations shall not be reimbursed 21 to any utility. 22 Section 2. There is hereby appropriated to the Pennsylvania <-- 23 Public Utility Commission a sum not to exceed $2,500,000 from 24 the First Class City Taxicab Regulatory Fund established by and 25 authorized in 66 Pa.C.S. Ch. 24 (relating to taxicabs in first 26 class cities) for hospitality initiatives making taxicab service 27 in the city of the first class more consumer friendly. Any money 28 not encumbered by June 30, 2004, shall lapse into the First 29 Class City Taxicab Regulatory Fund. 30 Section 3 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2002, or <-- 20020H2530B3978 - 2 -
