                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for prohibition on expenditure
     3     for emission inspection program.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4706 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 4706.  Prohibition on expenditures for emission inspection
     9             program.

    11     (d.1)  Newly purchased vehicles.--Notwithstanding any other
    12  provision of this title to the contrary, no new motor vehicle
    13  that has been purchased shall be subject to an emission
    14  inspection under this subchapter within one year of the date of
    15  purchase, and the first emission inspection on such vehicle may
    16  be conducted in conjunction with the first safety inspection of
    17  the vehicle. A copy of the sales agreement for such vehicle

     1  shall be sufficient evidence of compliance with this section for
     2  12 months from the date of purchase, provided that the sales
     3  agreement is maintained in the vehicle. Any dealer who sells a
     4  vehicle subject to emission inspection under this section shall
     5  inform the purchaser at the time of sale about the provisions of
     6  this subsection.
