SENATE BILL

No. 1384 Session of 2000


        INTRODUCED BY TILGHMAN, KUKOVICH, CONTI, BODACK AND GERLACH,
           MARCH 17, 2000

        REFERRED TO APPROPRIATIONS, MARCH 17, 2000

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations to the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh for
     2     operations and maintenance expenses and the purchase of
     3     apparatus, supplies and equipment.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  The sum of $219,000 is hereby appropriated to the
     7  Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh for the fiscal year July 1, 2000,
     8  to June 30, 2001, for maintenance and the purchase of apparatus,
     9  supplies and equipment.
    10     Section 2.  The sum of $219,000 is hereby appropriated to the
    11  Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh for the fiscal year July 1, 2000,
    12  to June 30, 2001, for the general operation of the planetarium
    13  and institute.
    14     Section 3.  Payments to the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh on
    15  account of the appropriations provided in sections 1 and 2 shall
    16  be made quarterly by the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania
    17  Historical and Museum Commission.
    18     Section 4.  The Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh shall provide

     1  full, complete and accurate information as may be required by
     2  the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission or the
     3  chairman or the minority chairman of the Appropriations
     4  Committee of the Senate or the chairman or the minority chairman
     5  of the Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives.
     6     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000, or
     7  immediately, whichever is later.
